Well Ron you've been around here maybe as long as I have. You just talk allot 
more. I can remember when 7.0 was about to come out and I was pissed because 
it wouldn't install on a machine I had. Win98 worked just fine and mandrake 
6.5 if I remember correctly. So I mailed the list and raved for a good long 
while untill pixel wrote me back kindly and told me to check the cdrom. 

You know what it was the cdrom and it did work fine under windows for a 
little longer but when mandrake started compileing stuff i586 it requires 
allot more from the hardware instead of just getting allong with the status 
quoe. 

Now having said this I'm not saying the installer is not at fault. I run a 
computer store. I do this for a living. I'm glad mandrake has helped me to be 
better at my job. I 've learned allot about hardware from just being here. 
I've also had 2 voodoo3 3000's go bad on me. All I'm saying is that you might 
want to check your card. It may save you no end of posible grief some time in 
the future.
