Hardly possible at all. > they even have a dvd/cdrw module.... I would think that this could be a job for devfs if it was not for the fact of ide-scsi needing to be started before the kernel runs. Maybe a pre-boot script that checks the bios and offers the proper choice (such as ide-scsi), then maybe later on the system can detect if floppy was installed and not load it from fstab (esp if supermounted). Maybe hotplug could play a role.... it would be wonderful to be able to suspend, switch out parts and then resume (dream :-}).
