2. An expert update packages, no package selection should have no possible reason to interfere with the contents of /etc/fstab. Yet it does as follows: 2a. CD fstab lines have a -- parameter added which is illegal. These will not mount. 2b. The order of the entries is changed. 2c. The columnisation of the entries is destroyed making the entries less readable. 2d. Remote devices are prefixed by /dev/ as follows: big:/local/mandrake /remote/mandrake/ ext2 noauto,user,default 0 0 is changed to: /dev/big:/local/mandrake /remote/mandrake/ ext2 noauto,user,default 0 0 making them illegal and unmountable. Who is responsible for this ongoing destructive damage to Mandrake's reputation? Let me say that I do not suffer fools gladly. -- Ron. [au]
