Ummm... I think you are mistaken.  Don't Worry Be Happy was
written and sung by Bobby McFerrin on the soundtrack of the
movie Cocktail (with Tom Cruise).  Bobby McFerrin is very much
alive and well and his website can be found at

About the 8.2 release, though, I agree that there should
be deadlines, but I think they need to be flexible because
