This was really snippy. I'm sorry - let me try again. I cannot control the entry of Mandrake CDs into the company. I can make them for myself and whomever I can give copies to, but that may or may not be all of them. For our conversion to work, and for me to be able to successfully wring blood out of the company turnip for MandrakeSoft, I need stability, and I need it out-of-the-box. I don't have a legion of Linux gods at the ready. All I have are warmed-over NT admins, only some of whom have any real hope of being anything more. It's miserable, but it's what I have to work with. Believe me, every company I've worked for is in a similar situation. Pointy-clicky; yes. Hand-edit /etc/lilo.conf after updating a kernel right out of the box? Er, maybe down the road. <sigh> -- Brad Felmey
