The known issue only relates to people who are trying to use automatic print driver downloads, and only with specific print drivers. Affected printers are known to include HP2200 and HP Laserjet 4 (I beleive) | So, it seems like 8.2 won't be usable as a print server. I should've | spoken up earlier. :( I would say samba-2.2.3a may not be suitable as a print server in some situations. If anyone has such a situation, we (Sylvestre and I) will be glad to make samba-2.2.2 RPMs available (for me, as soon as our mirror catches up with Mandrake 8.2 ISOs). Of course, 2.2.2 has it's own problems (race on certain locking conditions, winbind memory leak and performance hits against windows DCs), and if you are trying to make a print server for a windows domain using winbind, you are in a catch22 situation, and should wait for 2.2.4 ... | | Forgot to mention how samba does not work for me - it will allow me to | setup the printer just fine, but in the Windows printer dialog, it will | always just say "access denied". Also, if you are still having problems, a sanitised smb.conf would also be useful.
