No problems.  But I don't need to do any translations, so that doesn't
mean anything.

I didn't think about the /etc/profile.d/ksh3.sh file.  That would be the
big difference between our systems: I have a totally custom /etc/profile
which does NOT source in everything under /etc/profile.d.  Call it the
paranoia of an old system administrator, but I don't like having my
system wide user settings controlled by a packager.
