Sorry, I did not intend it as a troll. Perl5 is just an obfuscated
language with all it's mnemonics and stuff.

Once they memorize and understand all of the perl5 mnemonics. Like I
said it was not intended as a troll but just a statement as to
increased barrier to entry in getting more drakx/part-time drakx
hackers.

Without all of Mandrakes "pre" and "post" install customization like setting
msec level, etc.? (I would think the pre more important than the post
actually)

Well, he has not _ignored_ them, but not much as been done beyond the
"well it works here" part. I can understand the reluctance to deal
with a "single report" type of bug, but there is something in there
that is causing some sort of problem with hanging (and once it starts,
usually upon entering a given website it's usually quite reproducable)
as much as a corner case as it is.

I may try this. This might be the only way (short of an actual
install, which I cannot do due to my disk being all LVMed up) to get a
system that does not have a _lot_ of unused libs hanging around.
