It's actually not at all clear - and should be left to lawyers.

However, it's pretty clear that distributing from France to non-US
users should be OK.

If Apple objects, I expect Mandrake's response would have to be to ask
how much it would cost to sub-licence the patents, and to offer to
withdraw the hinting until the issue was resolved.

But, that is why I suggested a separate package.

I think that if we have an opportunity to have a Linux desktop
that looks good, vs one that's crappy, it's an important opportunity.

Mandrake people, who would have to talk to whom to make this happen?
