In my case, not. My best CD drive is a Plextor 40/12/40 CDRW (very highly recommended!) as master on the secondary IDE channel all by itself. My other machine exhibits the same problem, in this case a Sony CRX145E as master by itself on the secondary IDE channel. My diagnosis is that md5sum needs more work. Urgently ... -- Ron. [au]
