Usually problems occur if you don't have reverse lookups working. If you ssh twice in succesion to another machine, an it says "Last log in from <IP ADDRESS>" then you don't have reverse lookups working. Either setup DDNS (which will do this for you - quite cool if you have more that 5 machines ....) or add a new zone for your subnet (it's network address), with PTR records for all the machines.
