As i told before, it may (and certainly is) related to my LG cd-writer with 
msi k7t Pro2, but as it seems to be a quite popular mobo, it is reasonable to 
think that this small feature could be included in a post install script, in 
this way, you could use the cdrom without having the whole system blocked.

It will may be solved in the next kernel release (the 2.4.18-linus kernel 
hanged in the same way with ide-scsi) but as i'm not sure, i try to figure 
out how it could be safely (and easily) coped.
