I've compiled and installed gnome2 from cooker source on my 8.2ppc (I
had to unsinstall gnome-core-1.4 and nautilus-1 to avoid conflicts). It
seems to run
almost well and fast, even on my 180 Mhz ppc.

I noticed several issues in nautilus-2.0.0-5 I didn't see in
nautilus.bugzilla. So I post them here

1 - after a "nautilus -q", all my icons positions are lost, and all of
them place at the same place at the top left of the screen.

2 - A migration issue : my nautilus-1 scripts weren't taken into
account and didn't appear
in the menu, because the script directory isn't at the same place
anymore.
3 - The "open scripts directory" entry in the file menu, when activated
for the first time, creates a ~/.gnome2/nautilus-scripts directory.
Once this is done, nautilus becomes very slow (to open windows, to
change directories, to move to trash, to pop up menus, etc., but not
the text, eog and gtkhtml views). In fact, more than nautilus-1.
Deleting this directory and restarting nautilus solves the problem. As
a consequence, I can't use scripts in nautilus-2 by now.

4 - I tested nautilus in several user accounts. I created a special new
user account (named "gnome2") to test it in a clean environnement. In
this user account, nautilus runs fast.
But in my other accounts,
where I used to run gnome1 before (let's call them "gnome1 accounts"),
nautilus is very slow. I didn't find any solution and it is the most
annoying bug. The most weird thing is the following : when running a
terminal in the gnome2 user account, if I make a su to one of this
"gnome1 user" and launch nautilus2 (being then a "gnome1 user"), it
opens and runs fast !!!

Cheers,
