- really weird. Most tools I know of would have done exactly what you describe if asked for an extended partition in the middle of the disk. diskdrake does not do so AFAIK and AFAI've tested. - partition magic is quite picky here. diskdrake used to make such an error but I relaxed the check because many partition tables alike the one you describe exist (it was changed on 2001/01/03)
