As well, I am having problems with this. With the old tinyfirewall (<=8.2), I was able to accept all the default refusals to provide access and the Probe My Ports test at Steve Gibson's site* would report all 'Stealth' (no evidence of a computer). Now, the default (post-install) is 'no firewall' and the probe reports only 'Closed'. If I deselect 'no firewall' and select all the other services (which seems to parallel the provision in old tinyfirewall to allow my box to act as various types of server, which I don't want), I get 'connection refused' when trying to surf. During install-time configuration, I believe CUPS and mail server were preselected, which implied provision of servers that I don't have, which I deselected, which led to my reported issue with surf stoppage @ name resolution failure. Seems to me the old behavior filled a niche for many like myself, who, while not necessarily adverse to learning new skills, do not presently feel a need to have more added to the need_to_do list ;) * https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 Rolf
