try to split a window, and you will receive a Segmentation fault !

well, now - that's no fun at all. It seems that you are correct on that, D.

It would appear that nedit and newer lesstif just don't like to play
together. I tried several iterations of builds, but rolling back to the
older lesstif and rebuilding it and then nedit against it on a 9.0
platform seems to make at least 2 of the report issues go away
(non-responsive secondary window, segfault on splitting window).

lesstif-0.93.18-3.1mdk.i586.rpm
lesstif-clients-0.93.18-3.1mdk.i586.rpm
lesstif-devel-0.93.18-3.1mdk.i586.rpm
lesstif-mwm-0.93.18-3.1mdk.i586.rpm
nedit-5.3-1.1mdk.i586.rpm

If anyone want's to try them.

This then leaves the issue of other lesstif based programs, which use the
new lesstif. (ddd for one).
all seems to be ok using :

 lesstif-0.93.18-3.1mdk.i586.rpm
 nedit-5.3-1.1mdk.i586.rpm

the use of reognition pattern (highlighting syntaxe) is good too
