------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2002-12-02 01:20 ------- I tried to switch my sound card to repiad the bug with different sound card. I removed a CM8x38 and put FM801 soundcard to my PC. But I found, there is no way in the Mandrake Control Center to change a sound driver. The new card is detected but when I run config tool, mdk90 offers me ONLY the old driver. Have I missed something? There is a tool to setup printer, display, keyboard, mouse, TVcard, by nothing for sound. draksound writes this: #Here you can select an alternative driver (either OSS or ALSA) for your #sound card (Fortemedia, Inc|Xwave QS3000A [FM801]). # #Your card currently use the ALSA "snd-cmipci" driver (default driver for #your card is "snd-fm801") But it doesn't offer me a fm801 driver, only old cmpci... I guess this is another bug and have to be reported to someone else. I really miss a tool, that will test a sound subsystem, OSS, ALSA, WAW, MIDI, CD, SPEAKER, MIXER, recording, ... to play sound with different sampling rate, ... It will make bug hunting simpler.
