Unfortunately, I still observe a problem with system sound bell. The noise after bell is different now but it is not ok! I observe a blocking with xmms too. I think that arts system is not running on my pc (the box "start arts server during KDE start" is disabled). I noticed that system bell sound is related to PCM output in the mixer (KMix). Looks like KDE/konsole problem, doesn't? That it translates ALERT control code (0x07) in some strange way to PCM output. Maybe that this bug is really fixed in the cooker. Is there an easy way for me to verify it (without installing the whole cooker)?
