The simplest way I can think of is:

Requires: kdebase
Conflicts: gnome-desktop gnome-session

This should fit your intended usage. You can try
convincing Fred if your scriptlets can be added back
if the above 2 lines are added as well.

Your arguments still failed to convince me, so this
is the most I can help.
