I've mentioned this before, and I hope this will be addressed BEFORE 9.1
is finalized.

I actually question the need to have Xconsole running on a standard
desktop anyway (because the average desktop user wouldn't understand the
output anyway)

But since the new Cooker (after 9.0) - Xconsole starts automatically
with KDE.  But the output is not very attractive:

Starting SMB services: [65G[[1;32m  OK  [0;39m]
Starting NMB services: [65G[[1;32m  OK  [0;39m]
Starting lisa:  [65G[[1;32m  OK  [0;39m]
Starting kheader:  [65G[[1;32m  OK  [0;39m]
Running devfsd actions:  [65G[[1;32m  OK  [0;39m]
Running Linuxconf hooks:  [65G[[1;32m  OK  [0;39m]
[65G[[1;32m  OK  [0;39m]

It would be nice if the output was better formatted (with colored text
like a normal Console)

The devil is truly in the details.
