I see Lenny uploaded to contrib, but there are some issues:

Wha about permissions on the nvram device? Or should this be run as root
(but then launching user-space programs as root for mail etc)?

Also, should there not be some way of starting it as a daemon
automatically (/etc/X11/xinit.d/ or /etc/rc.d/init.d ?).

Ahh, yes, works for volume and apm at least. How about changing some of
the defaults, such as:

OSDPOS  middle
OSDALIGN        center

(on-screen stuff looks much better in the center than somewhere just
half-way over my taskbar IMHO).

I also thought green looked better than blue:
OSDCOLOR        Green

BTW, buildrequires seems to need to be libxosd-devel > 2.0 (does not
work with the package in 9.0).
