Hello... my question may seem as coming from a newbie, but I am not. I
have been using Linux for 7 years, all sorts of flavors, and lately I
use MDK, and cooker specially... and I consider myself and advanced
Linux user/admin.

My question about Cooker is: If I start with a MDK 9.0 system, and
update *all* the packages with Cooker packages (and i mean all of them),
do I end up with a system equal to Cooker?

I have done this. But I have a couple problems that other people in
this list do not seem to have. So I wonder if it is the result of
starting off with a non-cooker MDK, or what.

When I think about it, all the software installed in my system comes
from Cooker packages. I even check that config files are not created
with ".rpmnew", but rather are put where they should be as the real
configuration file. So... in my opinion, I should have a system
identical to Cooker. I have checked the versions of every single RPM in
my system, and they all match the current Cooker. (I do urpmi
--auto-select regularly)

So my question is: Is my train of thought wrong? Am I missing
something?

Thank you very much,
