The mouse cursor was unmovable, the machine was unresponsive to the keyboard (no Caps Lock, Scroll Lock or Num Lock lights were toggleable). After the "Search for updates" is declined, the machine freezes. The mouse cursor is locked and a hard reset is needed. CTL-ALT-DEL is ineffectual. 3) The md5sum on the downloaded ISO is correct and the image burned to CD-RW fine. 4) This is repeatable. I've tried 3 downloads and 3 installs. Same problem each time. System: AMD Duron 1100 512 MB PC133 RAM Asus A7V-E motherboard A-Open GeForce2 Ti video card Adaptec hardware RAID U2W SCSI Western Digital 120 GB IDE drive (with 8 MB cache) Seagate 9.1 GB U2W SCSI drive IBM 18 GB U2W SCSI drive Optiquest V775 monitor Soundblaster Live sound card Connor CTMS-3200 SCSI tape drive Umax 610S SCSI scanner Yamaha CRW-4260 external SCSI burner Pioneer DVD drive Mandrake 9.0 installs and runs fine on this system.
