After the "Search for updates" is declined, the machine freezes. The mouse cursor is locked and a hard reset is needed. CTL-ALT-DEL is ineffectual. 3) The md5sum on the downloaded ISO is correct and the image burned to CD-RW fine. 4) This is repeatable. I've tried 3 downloads and 3 installs. Same problem each time. System: AMD Duron 1100 512 MB PC133 RAM Asus A7V-E motherboard A-Open GeForce2 Ti video card Adaptec hardware RAID U2W SCSI Western Digital 120 GB IDE drive (with 8 MB cache) Seagate 9.1 GB U2W SCSI drive IBM 18 GB U2W SCSI drive Optiquest V775 monitor Soundblaster Live sound card Connor CTMS-3200 SCSI tape drive Umax 610S SCSI scanner Yamaha CRW-4260 external SCSI burner Pioneer DVD drive Mandrake 9.0 installs and runs fine on this system.
