total freeze are kernel problems. hope it will be fixed for 9.1 final but
skeptical. you may try to install with the 2.2 kernel (F1 then alt1 at boot)

1) Mandrake 9.1 Beta 3 cannot be successfully installed on my machine which is
currently running Mandrake 9.0 non-problematically.
2) The install seems to proceed fine until the last step. After the "Search for
updates" is declined, the machine freezes. The mouse cursor is locked and a
hard reset is needed. CTL-ALT-DEL is ineffectual.
3) The md5sum on the downloaded ISO is correct and the image burned to CD-RW fine.
4) This is repeatable. I've tried 3 downloads and 3 installs. Same problem
each time.
