Hello, 
I'd like to request that the permissions off the device for usbscanners is a bit 
loosened. Currently /etc/security/console.perms sets it to root.root 600 
That way a user cannot use it by default. If it gets set to root.usb 660 it should be 
better imo. 
For scsi scanners this is already the case (/dev/sg). 
I have updated the patch that is in the pam.src.rpm for that. I will attach that, 
renamed 
to pam-0.75-mdkconf1.patch.bz2 (note the 1).
