Don't want to file a proper bug on this yet, it's too general, but has
anyone else had ALSA problems lately? I wanted to play an MP3 file a
minute ago, so I started up XMMS, hit play, and it froze. So I
uninstalled and reinstalled XMMS and deleted ~/.xmms , which restored it
to stock, and set it to OSS output again (which of course will be just
ALSA's OSS emulation)... and this works. If I then change to the ALSA
output plugin, again it freezes on trying to play anything at all. I
couldn't get the alsaplayer util to play anything either, but then I'm
not convinced that works anyway. Anyone else having trouble?
