Whoops -- good catch. I was simply trying to comine other suggestions, instead of checking first. It's called "CHKDSK" in XP (and earlier -- it was only branded ScanDisk under 9x). Revised version of my recommendation: ----- To ensure your data's integrity, the Mandrake Installer has scheduled a disk check on all resized Windows partitions. The next time you start Windows, it will automatically verify the contents of the resized partitions. This will occur only once, and is not a cause for alarm. ----- I triggered a check-on-boot to check the terminology (below for the edification of those on the list): Checking file system on C: The type of the file system is NTFS. Volume label is XXXX A disk check has been scheduled. Windows will now check the disk. CHKDSK is verifying files (stage 1 of 3)... File verification completed. CHKDSK is verifying indexes (stage 2 of 3)... [bunch of stuff that uselessly scrolls off screen before user can read it...]
