well i guess in that case you may use acpi=oldboot or acpi=off

Here is my first report on ACPI on my laptop with ML9.1 rc1:  
  
- the power off at shutdown no longer works (it did with ML 9.0 and APM).  
- the reboot still doesn't work (like with ML 9.0 and APM).  
- all peripherals seem to work ok (USB mouse, sound, and ethernet)  
- klaptop displays the following message:  
  
"Your computer seems to have a partial ACPI installation. ACPI was probably enabled, 
but  
some of the sub-options were not - you need to enable at least 'AC Adaptor' and 
'Control  
Method Battery' and then rebuild your kernel."  
  
I do not know if it is a klaptop bug, but not being able to see the battery level IS 
an issue.
