------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-08 18:20 ------- I've noticed a possibly related phenomenon. This is on my University's network. dhclient gets the IP fine (examining the syslog shows this). However, it either fails to set a default route or in the process of setting such a route, corrupts the routing table. route fails to return (and does not display a default route), while ip route returns and displays a default route (which is quite weird. On bootup, the connection works perfectly, but about an hour later, it stops routing packets by the default route (DHCP leases are set to expire in ~11 hours, so it's not lease expiration). Attempting to restart the network (through /etc/init.d or manually calling ifup) gives the following error in the log: ifup: Error: either "to" is duplicate, or "gw" is a garbage. Only a) rebooting or b) statically setting the IP work. This occurs both with link detection enabled and disabled; tmdns similarly seems to not affect this. The NIC in question is a Myson Technology, run by the fealnx driver. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: NEW creation_date: description: DHCP doesnt work for me. I access the internet through a hardware router. I have to set my IP and the Gateway manually to get Internet Access.
