how to brown ground beef.. hmmm
well, don't put water in it , :)
I use an electric stove
this is how i do it.
1. if the ground beef is like in a big package, i sometimes sepearate it

into smaller chunks before putting it in a pan.
2. put a pan/skllet/whatever yo uwant to brown the meat it on high heat.
3. drop a lil margerine/butter/oil in it.wait till the sound of the
butter 
or margerine has stopped sizzeling.
with oil, take a couple of drops of water on your fingers, and drip it
in 
the pan. if you hear the oil pop, its warm enough for the meat to go in.
4. reduce the heat a lil, comes by experiense i guess.. put a little
meat in 
the pan at the time, not more than a pound! acording to a webpage i read

they said about half a pound at the time)
5. stir a lil in the meat occasionally to make sure it all gets browned.
listen to the sound. it will first sizzle quite much, then it will calm 
down, and then it will probably start sizzle a little again. when that 
happens, take the meat out of the pan. you can also take some up with a 
spoon and feel it, does it feel browned, or what?
smell is a good thing too.
