Patricia,
Here is another quick idea and easy appetizer. This one is easy to fix up if
their are eyeballs around. I had the fixings and my daughter-in-law and one
other woman were able to put a bunch of them together in no time... like
minutes... I was struglging a bit doing them. I was afraid to have these made
up too far in advance thinking the basil might get weird. So they were
probably done about 30 minutes before the guests arrived and can't tell you
what they looked like after the shower because the women ate them all up!
I bought longer toothpicks, they are probably called something like food picks
or appetizer picks. They are just a bit longer and fancier than toothpicks but
toothpicks would work too.
You get mozzarella cheese cubes, wrap a fresh basil leaf around one, run the
pick through them holding the basil leaf closed and stick a grape or cherry
tomato with the end of the pick. Once we lay these on a serving platter, they
were sprayed with dressing. I used those salad dressing things salad spritzers
I think is the name. I used Italian but red wine vinegar would be great too.
So now you have a little hand held sort of salad bruschetta.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass; It's about learning to dance in
the rain.
