The only electric knife I have ever laid hands on belonged to my mother.

The way I remember it is that there are 2 serated, very sharp blades that fit one parallel to the other, blades facing down toward whatever you are about to cut, into the end of a rectangular unit. The unit with these parallel blades is held in your hand and has a button near the top of the unit.

When you have lined up your knife on what you wish to cut, you press the button in, like a slight squeezing motion, and hold the appliance as the blades slice.

But, by gosh, you had better be careful! These knives could cut your finger right to the bone in a split second if your finger gets too close.

Subject: [CnD] more about electric knives

Hi,

what happened to Penny is scary indeed, but it can happen to anyone, sighted or blind, in a moment of carelessness. What worries me more is that we might cut our fingers with those knives. Is there any protection against that? I've never seen an electric knife so I have no idea. If someone could please describe what it looks like that would be nice.

Thanks
Sisi
