Alice,

I ended up buying tomato & basil Wheat Thins, and I'm using them with cream cheese.

My cheese ball consists of
2 Pkgs. cream cheese
1 Pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing
& Bacon Bits

Hi, Claudia,
It would depend on what is available but, a substantial cracker, like: Stoned Wheat Thins, Water Crackers, or something seasoned with herbs and or garlic would be my choice. If your cheese ball is made with Bleu cheese, you might want a water cracker, or something mild to carry the flavor. If your cheese ball is mild, like a Cheddar with wine, a more flavorful cracker would be good. The cracker is a carrier for the cheese, but an interesting cracker makes the cheese more appealing. I hope I haven't confused the issue for you. Really, it comes down to what you like.
Blessings,
Alice
