I love homemade pancakes. There are other varieties besides the white bread
Bisquick. Whole Foods Market makes a lovely multigrain mix, and Trader
Joe's has, mostly in the fall, a pumpkin pancake and waffle mix that beats
IHOP any day. There are also frozen pancakes you can toast in your toaster.
They're OK, but make the little extra effort to use a mix, or even start
from scratch. Some of these mixes can be used for homemade waffles. You
usually add eggs, milk, and oil or butter, but with some mixes, you just add
water.

Pancakes aren't just for breakfast anymore. You might want to see what
elegant forms of bacon or sausage your local grocer has to offer.

All,

We figured it out; the other half was using milk, instead of water. When I
tried my hand at making the batter, i used water & had no issues.

I do as someone else stated, use about 1/4 of a measuring cup to put the
batter on the grittle, use the spatula to keep the mixture somewhat confined
to a particular portion of the grittle, flip when the underside is getting
crispy & voila! They came out so tasty, and maybe, it was because I was so
craving pancakes this morning!
