I'm going to try those eggs one day soon.
I make a rice dish with chicken broth onion flakes, parsley flakes, and cooked mushrooms with almonds and rice. We like it a lot and I am sure you could put peas in there too.

Hello Lovette,
Here is my rice cooker version of an omelette:
break 2 eggs into glass jug, add a touch of water or milk
and beat with fork, add salt and pepper. Sometimes I put a knob of butter in the pot first, but not necessary as it is a non stick pot. Pour in egg mixture and put some grated cheese or cooked mushrooms in too. It makes one serving and takes 6 minutes. No need to time it because it will pop up when ready but I like to know so that toast or the rest of the meal can be co-ordinated I am curious to know whether potatoes or vegetables can be cooked in the rice cooker, as I remember that somebody on this list said they used it for other items besides rice. I guess I'll just have to try and if potatoes change into golf balls or broccoli gets petrified at least I'll have found the answer to the question!! Presumably the element turns off when the liquid is absorbed. Will let everyone know the result of my experiments if I survive to tell you!
Sheila.

Very interesting Sheila I had no idea you could cook an omelet like that.
I have one of those rice cookers that pops up too. Isn't it kind of like steamed eggs then?

I have the simple rice cooker where the lever pops up when the rice is ready and I love it. The only other thing I have ever cooked in this utensil is an omelette, 2 beaten eggs with seasoning, which is done in 6 minutes. What other things do you cook in it? I'd like to have more suggestions please.

I like my electric rice coolker and I use it for all kinds of stuff. A rice cooker is definitely under $20. Sometimes the rice cooker is about $10 on sale.
