I have made this several times. When cooked the cake is at the top, sauce at
the bottom. For each serving I scoop out the cake and pour the hot sauce
over it. I have made other recipes like this, lemon, apple etc.

This could be what you are looking for.
Cake:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons oil or 1/4 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix with a spoon in bol
Spread evenly on the bottom of a greased square cake pan.
Sauce:
3/4 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
2 cups hot water
Stir together in bowl.
Pour over cake.
Bake in 350 oven for about 40 minutes.
