The reason you are seeing that shifting is because you don't have the plate
set in correctly. I can relate. I have a Panasonic and have to struggle
with the plate sometimes. Remember that, on the bottom of your plate, there
is a triangular piece that you have to fit onto the corresponding triangle
on the floor of your microwave. Make sure you get those two triangles
matched up right or your plate won't sit level. Sometimes, once you know
for sure that you are putting the plate triangles together the right way,
you may have to jiggle it some to get it in place. Once it's set in place
correctly, you won't have a problem making your fudge etc. Also, I bought a
round mat from Blind Mice Mart that fits nicely in the center of my dish.
It's made of silicon and you can remove it easily and hand wash and dry it
and then put it back on your turntable plate. That way, you don't have to
wash the plate as often so it stays in place for longer periods of time
which is very de-stressing. Hope this helps.

we have been having problems with our microwave. when ever you take the
plate out to clean it and go to put it back in it is hard to get back in.
I am talking about the plate that goes around. I once had a sharp and it
wasn't any problem to work with but this Panasonic is a challenge. when
the plate is in the microwave it seems to shift slightly from side to
side. and if you set a bowl on it it does not stay in the middle and has
an effect on things you are cooking. I make microwave fudge and I have
had several batches that don't come out like they should.
so My wife and I are in the market for a new microwave and would be
interested in any that people find that work well and is easy to operate.
