Given that you didn't wait, Dale, how were they? I'm assuming you cut the
chilling time to about half or less?

Hi All,
I got hungry for some chocolate chip cookies and here is what I made...
one thing,
see if you can imagine why I laughed at the title of these cookies...
especially if you want to make them for a midnight snack...
it had better be for a midnight snack the next night..
Smiles
After you mix up the dough, you have to chill it for 4 hours...
For those of you that have heard Cooking In The Dark, you know I did not
wait!
Here ya go!

Ingredients:

1 cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2-1/4 cup cake flour
3 cups chocolate chips

Directions:

1. Combine shortening and sugars in large bowl. Beat on medium
speed with electric mixer until well blended.
2. Beat in eggs, vanilla extract, baking powder and salt until well
blended.
3. Stir in cake flour. Stir in chocolate chips just until mixed in.
Shape dough into two rolls about 2 inches in diameter. Wrap tightly
in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
4. Heat oven to 350 degrees, Slice dough about 1/2 inch thick.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10 to 14 minutes or until
firm and golden. Cool on cookie sheets 4 minutes; transfer to
cooling racks.

Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
