Subject: [CnD] Hermit Cookies

Well on this cold winter day I decided to use up some half packages in my
baking cupboard.

Hermit Cookies
Yield: 48 servings

1 c Packed brown sugar

1/2 c Butter or Margarine; softened

1/4 c milk or water

1 Egg

1/2 ts Baking soda

1/2 ts Salt

1/2 ts Ground cinnamon

1/2 ts Ground nutmeg

1 3/4 c All-purpose flour

1 1/4 c Raisins

3/4 c Chopped nuts

1 c chocolate chips (dark or milk or semi-sweet)

optional * 1/2 c coconut (shredded or flaked)

*If thre is not enough of the raisins, nuts, etc then just use what you
have. It makes no difference to you. :)

Heat oven to 375 degreesF. Mix brown sugar, margarine, shortening, coffee,

egg, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir in remaining

ingredients. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto

ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until almost no indentation remains when

touched, 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. About 4

dozen cookies.
