My friend buys the canned tomatoes and puts them into the blender, and
purees them, thus, she says, eliminating the seeds. She does not like to
just put the stewed tomatoes into the pasta sauce.
I personally do not mind them when eating fresh.

Subject: [CnD] Working with Tomatoes.

Hi, Nancy, and List,

To core a tomato, using the point of a paring knife, cut at a 45 degree
angle around the stem, going toward the center of the tomato. You will end
up with a piece, tapering to a point with the stem end being the widest. If
you are slicing a tomato, there is no need to remove the seeds.

For some recipes, though, it is better to remove them for a thicker more
concentrated sauce. For example, if you are making fresh salsa, it would be
better to remove the seeds before chopping the tomatoes.

Hope this helps.
Blessings,
Alice
