You should also determine how much better your waffle iron holds. You can do this very easily… With your iron not plugged in, a cold iron, fill it with a pre-measured amount of water till you feel the water come to the top of the griddle and just reach the top of the squares. Now you will know how much batter to pour on it when you make waffles. Mine holds 1/2 cup so it was easy. Some Belgium Waffle makers hold 2/3 cup.
