Spoon Bread and Strawberry Wine By Norma Jean and Carol Darden DB41680 The NLS has this book up on BARD. Though not expressly aimed at blind folks, this has a lot of Southern recipes in it along with some reminisces about different family members, and the selection is not your usual fare. Ice creams, wines, game dishes, a bunch of things to do with sweet potatoes, and even some cosmetics are included, and there's an extensive section on home canning. It's a great read for those interested in cooking, and some of the recipes sound amazing. It's nice to see some of the less common things covered, and though I would use a different approach to the wine stuff it's a great introduction to how the process works. I suspect the other things also work as well. This deep south (Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and North Carolina for the most part) cooking in a highly representative manner, told with a framing structure like a family tree instead of by category, and it's a nice approach. If you're on BARD it's worth downloading.
