You measure the amount of coffee you want to use and put it in the
bottom of the press. Pour the water on top of a coffee using a finger
or however measuring works for you. The instant on hot water ought to
work unless you like it hotter. Wait maybe twenty five seconds and
slowly plunge the press top plunger down until the bottom of the
plunger connects with the top of the body of the machine. Don't wait
too short a time or plunge quickly or you will have grounds all over
the place. I have done that many times. I always did my plunging in the
sink, just for that reason.
