let the coffee and water sit for about four or five minutes and then push the plunger down all the way. At that point you would be drinking excellent tasting coffee. I don't the unseen being coffee company and roast all the coffee for my company and I have been doing this for about 11 years. You should put water in your press that is slightly below boiling. You should grind the coffee coarser than normal drip coffee. You should experiment to figure out how much coffee you need. You should put water in the press and coffee and let them sit for about four minutes with the plunger just sitting in the top far enough down but you can put the top on the press
