Usually they are talking half a breast, not the whole breast of the chicken.

I would think that if it doesn't specify whether to use halves or whole, you should use whole breasts. Otherwise, they would specify to use halves.

Subject: [CnD] question about chicken breasts

Hi everyone,
I've noticed one thing about recipes calling for chicken breasts. Some specify chicken breast halves, some say whole chicken breasts, others don't specify at all. Has anyone noticed this too? So how do you decide which to use when no indication is given? Maybe this question only points out that I don't know as much about cooking as I thought. I'll be interested in your thoughts.
Thanks,
Nancy Martin
