I've never tried cooking them in the microwave. Halve the portions for a single serving. They cook exactly like white rice, so whatever you use to make rice should work. I buy them at the grocery store in either the baking needs aisle or where the rice and other grains are. The ones I get come in a box, not a bag. You may also be able to find them in the bulk section of stores that sell things in bulk.
