Hi I know that the large Spanish onions are widely used by sub shops.
They seem to be a tad stronger than the Vidalia sweet onions. It depends
what you want to use them on. I use the red for salads, the large Spanish
for subs hamburgers and rarely use the small onions for anything else. Just
so you know, I used to own a sub shop in the North Shore Mass area and
everyone used the large Spanish onions that comes in a 50 pound netted bag.
Hope this helps in some way. Andy and Shubert

I know that white onions are the strongest and hottest.
Red and yellow onions are sweet; but I don't know which of these 2 colours
is the sweeter.
