If you are planning on cooking the porkchops in the slow cooker, you do not cook them on top of the stove first.

Brown pork chops on both sides; drain. Stir in onion, broth, caraway seed, celery seed and pepper. Cover and simmer for 45 to 55 minutes. Add sauerkraut and apple. Cover and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes longer, or until heated through. Sprinkle with bacon, if desired. Note: If you prefer a more mild flavor, rinse and drain the sauerkraut before adding it to the skillet. Makes 2 to 4 servings.
