4 pork chops, 1/2 inch thick
Vegetable oil for browning
1 med. onion, sliced and separated into rings
1/8 tsp. instant garlic flakes
3 c. drained sauerkraut
3/4 c. apple juice
1 1/2 tsp. caraway seed
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. apple slices, unpeeled and cored (red cooking variety)

Brown pork chops in non-stick pan; set aside (omit this step if you are in a
hurry). Place in a slow cooker half of onion rings, garlic flakes,
sauerkraut, apple juice, caraway seed, salt, thyme, and pepper; add pork
chops. Place the remaining half of ingredients on top of chops; top with
apple slices. Cover slow cooker and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high
for 4 hours.
